A Brief History of Carlowden Country Club
THE LATER YEARS
Carlowden has been a member of the Northern New York Golf Association since 1934, when the Association staged its first annual six-man tournament at Canton. Carlowden was host to the tournament in 1936, 1946, 1954, 1962 and 1970.The Clubhouse Renovations
The Clubhouse received a much-needed facelift and overhaul in 1984, The small porch facing the practice green was replaced by a substantial addition which can seat over one hundred people. It offers a beautiful elevated view of several holes.
The "New Nine"
The most dramatic accomplishment for Carlowden in the last half century has to be the addition of nine new holes making Carlowden an 18-hole golf course. The New Nine”, as it is most often referred to, began as an idea that had surfaced many times in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.Written by From a story by Jeff Cole

On Saturday, July 15th, the members of the Carlowden Country Club were getting ready to compete for the club championship. As they rounded the curve and looked at the golf course, they knew very well that the 1995 tournament would be postponed.
